LyricLab

Copyright & DMCA Policy

DRAFT — NOT YET APPROVED FOR PUBLIC RELEASE. Replace all [BRACKETED PLACEHOLDERS], implement stated platform safeguards, and obtain review by qualified counsel.

1. Respect for rights

LyricLab supports original creation. Upload only sound recordings, compositions, samples, artwork and performances you own or are authorized to distribute. Giving credit, purchasing a song, finding a sample online or changing its pitch does not automatically provide permission. Songs may involve separate recording and composition rights.

2. Reporting infringement

Send a copyright infringement notice to the designated agent at [DMCA AGENT EMAIL] and [DMCA AGENT MAILING ADDRESS]. THIS AGENT MUST BE REGISTERED WITH THE U.S. COPYRIGHT OFFICE AND CONTACT DETAILS MUST MATCH THE REGISTRATION BEFORE PUBLICATION. Include: (a) your physical or electronic signature; (b) identification of the copyrighted work; (c) identification and precise URL/location of allegedly infringing material; (d) contact details; (e) a good-faith statement that use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or law; and (f) a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and you are authorized to act.

3. Removal and notification

We may expeditiously remove or disable access after receiving a sufficient notice and, where appropriate, notify the account holder. We review notices in good faith and may seek clarification. Submitting knowingly false claims can have legal consequences.

4. Counter-notification

If content was removed by mistake or misidentification, send a counter-notice to [DMCA AGENT EMAIL] with: (a) signature; (b) identification of removed content and its former location; (c) a statement under penalty of perjury of good-faith belief that removal resulted from mistake or misidentification; (d) your name, address and telephone number; and (e) consent to jurisdiction of the appropriate U.S. federal district court, or if outside the U.S. a district where the provider may be found, and agreement to accept service from the complaining party or its agent. We may restore eligible material following the statutory process unless notified of court action.

5. Repeat infringer policy

LyricLab adopts and will reasonably implement a policy to terminate, in appropriate circumstances, users who repeatedly infringe copyrights. We evaluate notices, counter-notices, patterns and surrounding facts; we do not promise a fixed-strikes safe harbor. We will accommodate legally recognized standard technical measures where applicable.

6. Beat licenses and ownership disputes

A beat lease is not automatic permission to upload a third-party sample or reuse a recording in ways the agreement prohibits. Commercial licensing disputes may require resolution between rights holders and licensees; we may restrict disputed material while investigating.

7. Agent and support

Designated agent: [AGENT NAME / ORGANIZATION]; email: [DMCA AGENT EMAIL]; mailing address: [DMCA AGENT MAILING ADDRESS]; phone: [DMCA AGENT PHONE]. General support: [SUPPORT EMAIL]. Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE].
