Producer Beat Licensing Framework

DRAFT — NOT YET APPROVED FOR PUBLIC RELEASE. Replace all [BRACKETED PLACEHOLDERS], implement stated platform safeguards, and obtain review by qualified counsel.

1. Beta status

This page explains proposed beat licenses; NO PURCHASES, PAID LEASES, EXCLUSIVE SALES OR PRODUCER PAYOUTS ARE ENABLED DURING FREE BETA. A separate signed or accepted order-specific license is required when commerce launches.

2. Producer ownership warranty

Producers must own or control the musical composition and recording rights they offer and secure all samples, loops, performances and third-party contributions to the extent required. Producers must disclose restrictions that could limit a buyer’s use.

3. Nonexclusive basic and premium leases

A lease grants only the rights expressly listed in an order-specific agreement. Basic and Premium names alone mean nothing about duration, territories, stream caps, distribution, sync or broadcast rights, royalty splits, modifications, content identification or sublicensing. Those details must be affirmatively defined before purchase.

4. Exclusive licenses

An exclusive license must specify exactly which rights are exclusive, geographic scope, duration, any existing licenses, whether copyright transfers (normally no unless expressly stated in a separate signed instrument), royalty splits, delivery files and refund/dispute terms. An exclusive sale cannot unilaterally revoke prior valid nonexclusive licenses.

5. Mandatory order terms when live

For every paid listing include: producer legal/licensing identity, work identification, price and fees, rights granted, permitted platforms/use, territory, term, caps, artist/prod credits, samples disclosure, splits and royalties, delivery format, refund policy, and disputes/contact process. Checkout must preserve a downloadable copy of the accepted license.

6. Ages and disputes

Only users age 18+ may buy, sell or accept commercial licenses when enabled. LyricLab may suspend disputed listings and should provide a defined process for notices and appeals. Do not advertise automatic copyright transfer.

7. Changes

Final commercial terms, tax responsibilities, payout processor, and consumer/refund policies will be published before commerce is activated. Contact: [LEGAL EMAIL].
