Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
This policy explains how [LEGAL BUSINESS NAME], operator of LyricLab, handles personal information. Contact [PRIVACY EMAIL] and [BUSINESS MAILING ADDRESS]. Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]. The beta is intended only for people ages 16 and older.
2. Information collected
Account information: email, authentication identifiers, account role, display name and optional profile bio. Age eligibility: birth month/year or other age-verification result, preferably retaining only an age band or verification status where feasible. Content: uploads, public tracks, metadata, comments, reports and private lyrics/drafts. Technical and safety information: IP address, device/browser data, security logs, cookies or local storage necessary for sign-in, and records of abuse reports. We do not need government IDs for basic beta sign-up and should not collect them without a justified verification process.
3. Why we use it
We use information to register and authenticate accounts; provide music hosting, streaming, lyric-saving and profile functions; protect users and enforce rules; respond to support and rights requests; maintain security; investigate abuse; and comply with law. The public beta does not enable paid subscriptions, targeted advertising or user-data sales.
4. Where information appears
Your public name, profile, tracks and associated metadata are visible to others when you publish them. Your email address, birth date/age-verification detail and unpublished lyric drafts are not intended to be publicly displayed. Avoid posting phone numbers, addresses, schools or private contact information in public profiles.
5. Providers and disclosures
We use Supabase for authentication, database and file storage and Netlify for site delivery; those vendors may process data on our behalf. We may disclose information to other service providers needed to operate the service, when legally required, or to protect users and platform integrity. We will update this policy before adding payment providers, advertising or analytics that materially change processing.
6. Teen protections, ages 16–17
Users ages 16–17 participate only in free noncommercial features. We plan to restrict unsolicited adult-to-minor direct messages, public exposure of sensitive details, precision-location collection, targeted advertising and sale of personal data. These must be enforced technically before minors are admitted. We do not knowingly allow registration under 16. If an ineligible account is identified, contact [PRIVACY EMAIL] for review and deletion. Age restrictions do not replace any legal requirements that apply to younger children or minors.
7. Retention and deletion
We retain account data and User Content while an account is active and as needed for security, lawful requests, dispute resolution, abuse prevention and backups. Requests for access, correction or deletion may be sent to [PRIVACY EMAIL]. We will verify requester identity and respond within applicable legal timeframes. Deletion may not immediately remove third-party copies of formerly public content or records retained where legally necessary.
8. Security and international access
We use access controls and security measures appropriate to the service, but cannot guarantee perfect security. Public music may be accessible internationally, and service providers may process information in multiple locations subject to their contracts and applicable law.
9. Cookies, choices and rights
Essential cookies and browser storage may be used for login and session state. Any nonessential analytics or advertising technologies should be disclosed and configured for applicable consent requirements before activation. Depending on your location, you may have privacy rights including access, correction, deletion or appeal. Contact [PRIVACY EMAIL].
10. Policy changes
We will update this notice before adding substantial new collection, paid purchases or advertising. Material updates will be highlighted. Contact: [PRIVACY EMAIL].
